Jeff Babb has over forty years process engineering experience in fuel ethanol, wet corn milling, food, beverage, and chemicals. Project involvement is from conception to startup plus permitting and environmental audits. His Chemical Engineering Degree is from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Georgia and Tennessee.
John Paul Clark - Engineering Consultant
John Paul Clark has ten years of professional design experience that includes facility layout, mechanical design, equipment specification, construction management and operational startup experience for both the Ethanol and Biodiesel Industries. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University.
Billy Griffin, P.E. - Process Engineer
Billy Griffin has been providing solutions for process needs for the last 13 years in petroleum, specialty chemical, and renewable resource fields as a senior chemical engineer. He has extensive experience in environmental and process safety, fugitive emissions calculations, biofuels and ethanol plant process design. He was formally trained by Alltech in ethanol production at their alcohol school in Kentucky, but has real world experience in equipment design, installation of equipment, and startup support and commissioning. For the past ten years, Mr. Griffin has been in the renewable resources field defining the process and process equipment in primarily ethanol and biodiesel facilities. He has served as lead process engineer on design or startup of ethanol and biodiesel plants ranging in size from 20 to 200 million gallons per year. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Tennessee and a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
Ashley Player - Advanced Bioenergy Consultant
Ashley Player has applied technical and project management experience including analysis of energy balance for biofuel feedstocks and comparison of energy consumption for various ethanol production technologies. Assisted in the development of operating manuals and startup protocols for biofuel plants now in production. Ms. Player is familiar with chemical reaction engineering and design of chemical processes. Ms. Player earned her Chemical Engineering degree from Clemson University.
Gerald U. Sherfy - Vice President of Operations
Mr. Sherfy has extensive experience in ethanol and biomass feasibility analysis and business plans. Mr. Sherfy has provided significant research and analysis for numerous ethanol and biomass projects and is a specialist in feedstock research and financial analysis. Prior to joining FBA, Mr. Sherfy worked in both the real estate appraisal and commercial finance fields. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and an Executive MBA (Masters of Business Administration) from the University of Memphis.
